Pretty neat, this story really dwells on Silver Surfer and his story, they never even go to Earth and interact with anyone else. It gets into a lot of morality-related issues and philosophizing, which is when the Surfer is at his best. There's a lot of strong religious allegory as well, with Galactus being something like God and Mephisto being something (obviously) like the devil.

Basically Nova gets mind-tricked by Mephisto into directing Galactus to eat planets with life, which she normally tries to avoid. Surfer tries to stop her, which gets into a whole big mess.

It's a good introduction to Silver Surfer and an interesting book altogether, though it's a little light on story at times. I liked how intelligently it dealt with the characters, it didn't constantly devolve into a punching match as comic books so often do. Good stuff. ( )
