Protagonist Stanley Hastings is a private investigator thrown into a case he tried to get out of. During the case he learns that he isn't half the schmuck he thinks he is even if he goes about it all wrong.
The plot was interesting enough an moved along quite well but he ball is still in the air if I like the main character or not. He can be quite annoying at times. Hopefully he develops over the series. So, I will have to give another a try.
