A typical Nora Roberts plot of romanticism with misunderstanding in the middle which leads to happy ending in the end. A light read for an enlightened endeavour to de stress a hectic day.
This is a duo of series romances by Robb. I only read one because it is the culmination of a trio of which I had read one earlier. It was OK but I think the earlier serials that Roberts wrote don't appeal to me very much any more. The second hald of the book perked up with more suspense and action and that helped but I still felt that the the hero and heroine are mismatched and that their connection was engineered by the Stars of Mithra and sex appeal.
The third star story is in here, the story that started with Hidden Star and Captive Star concludes here in Secret star, because I really liked the first two I lept at finishing the series. This is the story of Grace Fontaine and Lieutenant Seth Buchanan and their adventure to ensure that the last star of Mithra finds it's way into the museum and not into the hands of a collector, a collector determined to get it.
Somewhat of a letdown. I'd almost like to see her take another run at this story as it not as good as the first two. I would have liked to see more of Grace and her background. There were also some implied powers of the Stars that wasn't resolved at the end (to my mind at least). You can see here a glimmer of some of the show more supernatural elements that become more marked later in her career.
Treasures Lost, Treasures found is a story of Kate Hardesty, an academic who had traded love for academia and now her father has died she's exploring his papers. It sounds like her father found a sunken treasure and now she wants to try to finish his work.
Ky Silver is the man she left behind, she's determined to leave him in the past but he's not too sure that's the best thing for them both. Originally published in 1986 this does show a certain paint-by-numbers quality in the story. It's not the wost of her's but nothing stood out for me. show less
