What a classic story. At first I was a little sad when he didn't magically turn into a prince, but then I noticed how the princess was coming to like the frog just as hw was and started to get use to him sleeping on hr pillow. I was pleased to find the prince standing behind her and the princess actually keeping her promise to the frog. My favorite Disney movie of all time is Prince and the Frog and so when I cam across this book I had to read it knowing that it would be a different twist to the classic. I enjoyed reading this book.
Retelling of the Frog Prince fairy tale. Queen forces princess to keep her promise to the frog. Frog spends three nights with princess before her hatred turns to love. Frog's transformation is acrobatic. No mention of Iron Henry. Dark haired princess wears white gown throughout the book. Illustrations: Beautifully done in muted shades of greens, browns, and grays. Occasional yellows or reds.Great detail in the borders.
