Rainer F. Foelix studied Biology in both Germany and Switzerland and is a recognized authority on spiders. His spider research started in 1968 in Peter Witt's lab in Raleigh, North Carolina, and focused on the sensory organs of orb web spiders. His studies were later expanded to the neurobiology of other arachnid orders (ticks, scorpions, whip show more spiders) and to insects and selected vertebrates. show less
