The third volume of a black & white collection of Batman stories by various creators, with mixed results. A few excellent, most pretty good, a few clunkers. The two best are "THe Call", in which Batman is forced, for the second time in his career, to call in a super-powered acquaintance to save the life of an innocent victim of his crimefighting. A fine portrayal of the uneasy relationship between these two opposite numbers. The other one is "The Lesson", about a young boy training in the Cave, and we realize halfway into the story that things are not quite as we assumed. The other stories are good, just not particularly memorable.
