Kinda surreal?  Artsy-fartsy?  But Amy says her niece and nephew really enjoyed & appreciated it.  Apparently crows wear hats and sing opera.  And the whole flock (murder...) only has one baby at a time.  And Rowe (and his editor & publisher) think it's a good fit to have massive black font text, in a large picture-book, facing art that is dark & detailed... is the idea supposed to something about the dichotomy of styles of font and art?

This is a MUST read for everyone! The illustrations are FANTASTIC and the story is just great! I checked this out from the library and can't wait to add this to my library.
