Description

This classic short story unfolds during the last leg of a train journey. Three characters form different backgrounds and with decidedly distinct outlooks find themselves brought together by a curious tale about an "indiscreet letter." Each has their own opinion about the story and about life, love, and risk-taking. A surprising twist ending serves as a satisfying conclusion to the story.

What a lovely story! Strangers on a train ... somehow the author is able to beautifully create unique, intriguing characters in a short novella. She was able to do much with little in characterization, plot, mood and atmosphere.
Nice and short, intensely interesting once the girl began to tell her story, but the ending was so abrupt. It was a happy ending, evidently, but I wanted to know much more! Just one more chapter would have made it feel more finished.
