The most illustrious men and women of the past would have much to teach us if only, by some miracle of time travel, we could borrow an hour or so of their time - and get them to tell us just what it was that really mattered to them. Each book in this series enables us to do just that.

I love Oscar Wilde and this was certainly an interesting biography. It's written very conversationally which I'm not sure how I felt about. But overall, a short, informative biography. ( )

Great book. How many people would like to sit down with a cuppa and chat with Oscar Wilde? ( )

One in a series of books that takes a historical figure and attempt to recreate a fictional conversation over coffee. This is not for the hardcore Oscar Wilde enthusiast, however, for someone just wanting to become better acquainted with Wilde and the life he led, it's a nice little introductory primer. The main details about his life and work are accurately presented. The conversational method used to relay these details is okay and makes for quick reading, but it could be a bit lowbrow for someone hoping for a more serious take. Overall, for what it is, the book is successful. It's best to keep expectations low, however, if you already are familiar with the main events in Oscar Wilde's life. ( )
