When Massie and her girly-girl group of friends get into fights, you will laugh so hard you'll be gasping for air. You find yourself asking how these girls could be so snotty, but you'll read on to see how it ends. ( ) Reviewed by Taylor Rector for TeensReadToo.com In the opening to the THE CLIQUE SUMMER COLLECTION series, Massie is the main character. She gets kicked out of her ultra-exclusive horseback riding camp, and her parents force her to get a job. Massie comes up with a job as a make-up dealer for Be Pretty and does well -- in some ways. In this short (it's only 123 pages long!) summer read, a lot happens. This is a great start to a series that will keep us reading by the beach all summer long! So grab your frozen drink, book, and towel, and get ready to read! In this young adult novel, middle-schooler Claire Lyons moves from Florida to Westchester County, N.Y., to stay with the family of her father’s old school friend. The family, of course, has everything, including an ultra-popular daughter Claire’s age, Massie. But Massie takes a dim view of Claire, her Gap clothes, and the fact that Claire’s family is staying in her family’s guesthouse. She and her school-ruling buddies conspire to make Claire’s life miserable and, for a while, they succeed – until Claire fights back.
