This is delightful, and we love aardvarks and the artwork is amazing. But it's another kid's book where all the characters are male. Gotta change those pronouns up.

Wasn't what I expected and seemed kind of mean, but more of a Just-so story a la Kipling. ( )

The story has a cute way of describing how it became that aardvarks ate termites. It was funny how mongoose was trying to disturb the aardvark so he would stop snoring and in every attempt, nothing worked. However, when his tree feel down, he discovers the termites. Since termites are up at night, the aardvark is up too at night and this allowed the other animals to be able to sleep without his snoring. Rather a cute story!
The artwork is done with watercolor and pencil. It does a great job at showing details while entailing daytime and evening.
