The Author, a Japanese Professor, was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Price. A different perspective shows that the Pacific Theater was more peripheral to the control of China's natural resources. Ienaga depicts a Japanese Militaro-Industrial-Academic complex well in control with few left to resist its expansionist hawks.
Sobering account of Japanese atrocities in WWII across Asia, written by a Marxist scholar.
