I always enjoy a good Scottish romance. This novel was full of misunderstandings and backstabbing. After reading the first novel, I was glad to see Iain getting his chance at happiness, and Anne and Niall came back as well. I loved all the descriptions. The only thing was the whole novel was based on mistrust, and sometimes it became a little too much. And I wished getting to the climax didn't drag out. But I thoroughly enjoyed the ending, once I got to it.

I enjoyed reading this novel. It was well written and very romantic. I liked how the author stayed true to her theme which was that God can change lives for the better. I have only two criticisms of the book. First, I felt that the book was fairly predictable. However, I enjoyed the story so much I didn't really mind that. The second criticism is more of a warning for Christian parents. This book is a clean and decent read, but its really directed more towards adults than young people.
Ah..it's so very good. I like how it continued on from "Child of the Mist" (the first book in the series) and highlights a different character. Definitely worth reading again!
Like the first , it was an enjoyable enough read.
