Decent mainstream creeper that rises above the pack because of Grant's evocative style. The same story told by a different writer would be pretty weak but Grant keeps our interest with his trademark "quiet horror" pacing and metaphor. I thought it was going to be an [b:It|18342|It|Stephen King|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1309376909s/18342.jpg|150259] clone but Grant turns the same basic premise in a different direction.

Probably only a three point five but I like Grant's writing. ( )
