This is the third installment of the Quiller series. Our hero is back in Cold War Germany investigating the 36 deadly test flight crashes of West Germany’s new fighter, the SK-6, known as the “Striker.” Hall’s first-person style is intense, the compartmentalization of Quiller into the “organism” and the psychological battles he wages to get through his mission are exciting to read. This Quiller could be Jack Reacher’s father — you know, the one that doesn’t use a gun.
