James Hamilton-Paterson gives us this hilarious sequel to the popular Cooking with Fernet Branca. Gerald Samper is back on his Tuscan hilltop finding new ways to entertain himself. Gerald's nemesis, Marta, is back ruining his evening idylls, but Marta's not the only one creating trouble and sending Gerald away from his Tuscan hideaway and back to his native London.
Not as good as the first book unfortunately, but I also know others hold the opposite opinion. Fewer recipes and fewer laughs. I did, however, love the Amazing Grace parody lyrics. I think they were my favourite part.
Gerry Samper is such an amusing character that it is always enjoyable to join him in his travels and travails.
