Description

In this dynamic collection of short stories, including eight from Winners on the Pass Line (1985), Dagoberto Gilb captures the texture of the Southwest's working class in clear, ironic, and bitingly realistic fiction about regular people going about their complex lives.

I read a few of these stories back in 2005 and then got to meet him a year later. From the few that I read, this book is really great. I'll give a better review when I read the rest of it.
Dagoberto Gilb has a unique style of writing the makes his work classic Hispanic-American literature.
