Henry and Mudge are back in this chapter book for young readers. Henry's mother decides that the family could use some fresh eggs, fruits, and vegetables, so a trip out to the farm is in order. In typical Henry and Mudge fashion, some mischief does occur on the outing, this time involving a very loud goose. The book does an excellent job reviewing and introducing vocabulary words one might use on a farm, but also helps readers learn the names of different foods. The book features very vivid pen-and-ink illustrations, as well as watercolor illustrations. The pictures in the book are just as enjoyable as the story. Recommended for early kindergarten readers through grade 2.
I have a lot of respect for Henry's mom. In some ways I want to be her, with a big porch & yard & trees, and long dresses and bare feet - but I don't want a huge slobbery dog, thank you.
This sweet story is about Henry and his dog Mudge who go visit a farm in the country and an angry goose who chases them inside!
