Warm story highlighting the relationship between a boy and his father while caring for two geese. Illustrations rich in brown and orange hues. Plot warm and endearing if a little predictable.
This book was about a farmer dad and his son, Samuel finding a hurt goose. I learned that Canadian geese have loyal companions. I was surprised when I saw the garner not leaving the lady goose's side. I think this book is all ages because I learned that geese come back in the springtime to their original home and leave for the winter. This book can teach children about geese and different seasons. I also enjoyed how the illustrations on each page were very warm. It was like the sun was setting with the orange and mixed yellow.
This story is about a young boy who finds a hurt goose and takes her home along with its partner and brings her back too health.During this time Samuel gets very emotionally attached to them so does his dog.however for winter, the goose fly off after healing and Samuel gets very sad. After the cold season the geese return and they do not return alone. They bring their baby geese along! This story is very wholesome and cute.
