In the 23rd century, humans and Sandjarrs are allowed to join an intergalactic multiracial organization set up 8,000 years before. The humans are seen as a belligerent, underdeveloped race by the other members of the organization and have been kept out of it until now. The Sandjarrs had stayed out of interplanetary politics until a war between themselves and the humans broke out. Now Caleb, a human, and Mezoke, a Sandjarr, are paired up and trained as special agents to keep the intergalactic peace. This is a marvelous piece of space opera. Humans are deemed somewhat primitive, irrational and untrustworthy in an alliance of universal species. The main (human) character, Caleb Swany, is the first homo sapiens to enter the Interworld Diplomatic Office. The first assignment deals with a conflict human mining colony and indigenous Javlod people. This is part 1 of what apparently will develop into a series, and suffers a bit from carrying the load of introducing things and setting the stage.

This is a great piece of European Sci-Fi comics. The art by Pellé borrows lightly from earlier masters, but on the whole the style is distinctive. Furthermore, the portrayal of a muddy mining colony benefits from excellent use of color. ( )
