Robert Rankin's books are all thoroughly silly and I love them. I wouldn't recommend this as someone's first foray into the strange world of Rankin (for that look to the Brentford Trilogy) and it isn't the best of his works, but it still dished out a few put-the-book-down-to-compose-self laughs.
