This fictional account of events in 1980 El Salvador follows nine year old Nicolas de la Virgen Veras as he is caught in the crossfire between the government sponsored military and the ragtag people's army, the FPL. The theme is universal - innocent people trying to survive in a country torn apart by internal conflict. Highly recommended.
Story of a 9 year old boy who gets caught in between various factions in a civil war in El Salvador. I fell in love with this little boy and could hardly wait to see how the book ended. A good read.
Beautiful story of hope and tragedy
I thought this book was very well written and loved it!
