Mx used to love it went I would do what each page described, the belly kisses were especially tickley, which he loved. This is a counting book using a decreasing number of kisses for a baby, given by family members as the baby prepares for bedtime. I could see this being a lovely premise for an infant lapsit readaloud by a close family member or even potentially for use in a baby storytime. However, it is not my favorite book by Katz personally. It seemed a bit odd to count backwards from 10 in a book designed for the youngest of readers, although I like the idea for older toddlers and preschoolers. Counting Kisses is a great number picture book. Karen Katz takes an everyday moment with babies and has their families give them kisses. The reader is able to interact with their own child while reading this book. As the character baby gets "ten little kisses on her teeny tiny toes", I gave my daughter ten kisses on her toes. Kisses go from the toes to the head, counting down from ten to bed time. Our daughter loved this book so much that her grandparents found a recordable book where they can read the story to her. It's so touching when she opens the book and reacts to hearing her grandparents' voices. no reviews | add a review
