I enjoyed all the different froggy books when I was younger and I especially enjoyed this one. I feel that around the holidays this would be a good book I could read to my class and teach the kids that they can celebrate all holidays and be educated about all different holidays that people celebrate around the world. This book shows friends coming together for the holidays and I found it to be a great book to share with young kids to teach them what the holidays are truly about.
Froggy has always slept through Christmas. Now, his friend decides to show him what it is exactly that Froggy has been missing every year. A cute story to kick off the Christmas season. =)
I enjoyed reading "Froggy's Best Christmas" by Jonathan Landon for three reasons. First, I enjoyed reading this book because it was about Christmas and Christmas is my favorite holiday. This book also included various things you can do during Christmas (ex: getting a Christmas tree, making snowballs, decorating a Christmas tree, opening presents, singing carols, etc). Second, I think it was a great story about friendship during the holidays. Even though this was a fiction book, it portrayed froggy's love for his friends and family. Third, I enjoyed looking at the illustrations (ex: Froggy and his friends hung popcorn and pinecones on the tree). "Froggy's Best Christmas" is a book about Froggy celebrating his first and so called "best" show more Christmas. He was able to get a gift, get a tree, decorate the tree, and spend time with friends and family for the holiday. The message of this text is celebrating friendship and family. This was also a text for first time experiences. show less
This book is a great book for children because it teaches them about one of the most important holidays which is Christmas. Children enjoy reading books that are happy and that will make them laugh which makes this the perfect book.
I love the Froggy books! This book is about Froggy's first Christmas. It is his first Christmas because normally he sleeps through them. His friend wakes him up and they go wake their other friends up. Froggy and his friends have a snowball fight, and go get a Christmas tree. Froggy then makes presents for his mom. I think that Froggy really likes Christmas now, and he has had a great first Christmas.
I love Froggy he is very funny. Although, I could do without him always answering "Wha-a-a-a-at?" to his mother all the time.
Froggy has his first Christmas ever as he normally sleeps through the winter. Him and his friends search for the perfect tree. They decorate it together and celebrate Christmas as family and friends. It was Froggy's best Christmas ever! I would use this book in my classroom as it shows students Christmas is about giving and being with friends and family. This book is appropriate for ages 3-8.

Jonathan London was born a "navy-brat" in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on Naval stations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He received a Masters Degree in Social Sciences but never formally studied literature or creative writing. He began to consider himself a writer about the time he graduated from college. After college he became a dancer show more in a modern dance company and worked at numerous low-paying jobs as a laborer or counselor. He wrote poems and short stories for adults, earning next to nothing despite being published in many literary magazines. For some 20 years before he penned his first children's book, London was writing poetry and short stories for adults. In the early 1970s, he was reading his poems in San Francisco jazz clubs, and those experiences found their way into his witty children's book Hip Cat, which has been featured on the PBS children's television show Reading Rainbow. After writing down the tale The Owl Who Became the Moon in 1989, London began to wonder if other people might want to read it. He picked up his kids' copy of Winnie-the-Pooh and saw that the book was published by Dutton, so he casually decided to send his story to them. Surprisingly enough, they wanted to publish him. Working with different illustrators, and occasionally with co-authors, London has produced literally dozens of books. Most have appeared under his name, but some have come out under a pseudonym, which still remains a secret. He has published over forty books and has earned recognitions from organizations like the National Science Teachers Association.
