Description

Imagine where the Church would be today if the men in it were respected as they ought to be by their wives. What power would God unleash through godly men who were respected in their homes? Wives, instead of focusing on your husband's problems and shortcomings, look at what you are supposed to be doing yourself. In the Song of Solomon we read, "Like an apple tree among the sons." So what is your perspective when you look at your husband? Is it biblical or does it stem from all those show more modern lies which surround us? show less

Chock full of biblical wisdom and encouragement for women, and since it's biblical, it is of no small value to the man, either. Reading this book made me so very thankful for the wife God has given me. I was struck on this read-through by the presence of the Puritans - Burroughs, Watson, and some others wander through the pages adding depth and capping off arguments with the mot juste. Mrs. Wilson has drawn from deep wells, and the cool water she has brought up is very refreshing.
This book gave me a different perspective on supporting my husband. If I had read this in my feminist days, I would've burned it! But the Biblical principles drawn out with practical examples have been helpful.
Nancy Wilson is a "Titus 2 woman" who has written this book to "teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands" (Titus 2:3-5). She offers scriptural advice for Christian women to be a woman of the Word, who walks with God, who respects and submits to her husband as the head and spiritual leader of the family (Eph. 5:22-24), content in the assignments God gives them, takes her responsibilities in homemaking, and knows how to encourage her husband.

She also explains what Biblical submission looks like in the context of marriage and what it is not. Other issues addressed are finances, handling criticisms, etc.
