Description
Sponsored by the Department of Classics of Harvard University, a revised edition of the late Professor Smyth's A Greek Grammar for Colleges is now available. All necessary corrections have been made, and the book retains the form which has long made it the most complete and valuable work of its kind. In this descriptive grammar the author offers a treatment of Greek syntax which is exceptionally rich as well subtle and varied.Tags

- A Greek grammar for colleges was first published in 1920. An edition revised by Gordon M. Messing was published as Greek grammar in 1956. These are essentially the same work (Messing's preface states... (show all) that "even the much less ambitious revision of Smyth as originally conceived has not been possible" and that "the present revision of Smyth ... might more modestly be termed a corrected reprint"). However, this work should not be combined with A Greek grammar for schools and colleges (1916), an earlier and much shorter work.
