Middle of the road effort by Auchincloss....enjoyed it, but was not mowed over. Loved the story of the demise of the family homestead as well as the rise and fall of some characters, the fall usually related to character flaws...greed. There have been better and i know there are still better yet to be read by this author, which i look forward to.
