Description

"Shevin suggests his genius for yoking the serious & the hilarious. Here, he parodies some of the great poems of English literature, imagining what they might be like if written by their authors' pets."--WASHINGTON POST BOOK WORLD.

A hilarious collection of parodies. The conceit is that each poem is written by the pet of the poet who is being parodied. Obviously if you haven't read the originals, the parodies aren't of much use. This anthology ranges widely through English and American poets, from Shakespeare to the middle 20th century.
