The illustrations in the book were ok, I believe the illustration medium is oil pastels because it has a thick texture about it. Almost every page in the book consist of a simple sentence that agrees with the illustrations. Overall, the book was slow. There is no climax, but I honestly think this book was designed to help kids fall asleep, and if I am right then it's a well designed book.
If the moon could talk it would tell you all it saw in the night, the desert, lions, an ocean. Paralleled with a little girl going to sleep and her routine, in the end the moon sees the little girl sleeping. Very bright bold illustrations, very poetic.
goodnight book that talks about what the moon would see all around the world at night time. Great for nap time or saying goodnight.

This was my favorite book by Kate Banks. The reoccuring scaffold and the strong use of literary devices sets this book apart from most that are on the market today. It was wonderful. Simple and wonderful.
This was a wonderful story that is great for all ages whether the student is very young or very old. The book illustrations are very neat. I like how family is the central focus of the book.
Nice transition from [b:Goodnight Moon|32929|Goodnight Moon|Margaret Wise Brown|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1168407089s/32929.jpg|1086867] for the child who is ready to begin to explore the wide world beyond the nursery.
If you like Goodnight Moon...
