This Rookie Read-About Science discovery book for young readers explains why the moon changes shape during the month. Photographs accompany the simple text and a “Words You Know” glossary is included to enhance word recognition. This science book is perfect for young scientists, space enthusiasts, and readers who want to know more about the night sky.

Highly recommended. ( )

Although this book is older, I still believe that it could be very useful. It gives a correct understanding of the phases of the moon. It also shows diagrams to demonstrate why we see the moon in the said phases due to the alignment with the sun and the Earth as it orbits around Earth. I would use this book for its diagrams to show how the moon orbits the Earth and where it is lit as it orbits the Earth. I believe that the visual aid along with the simple text in the book would be useful to students when learning about the phases of the moon. ( )
