Very cute and simple, both in pictures and text. Charming is the best word for the series.

Dunrea has a real gift at drawing emotions on geese. Even a very little child (and these books are just the right pace for babies and toddlers) can figure out what the geese are feeling by looking at the pictures.

And they're realistic, too. I can see an actual child bossing their friend like Gossie - and having a tantrum just like her too.

Cute short which would be a good one for the little ones. Younger children would have fun finding the little details in the pictures such as, the eggs in the trees, the blue beetles and bugs that are shown, etc.
Summary:
Gossie and Gertie are two ducklings that are best friends, They do everything together, then Gertie follows Gossie everywhere, then Gertie goes his own way, then Gossie follows Gertie to dinner. They are best friends, Gossie wears red boots and gertie wears blue boots.
Comments:
For an early reader book I think the concept of friendship is great to include. Gossie and Gertie's simple friendship is something that young readers can relate to.
Gossie and Gertie are best friends and Gertie follows Gossie everywhere except sometimes Gertie follows other things too. When Gertie follows other things like jumping frogs, blue beetle, and a trail of grain Goss has to follow gertie.
Gossie and Gertie go on a silly adventure but they don't always agree on what to do next. In the end they learn they don't have to agree on everything to be friends.
A fun, quick story about these too ducks and their adventures. Great bedtime or snack time story.
Gossie and Gertie by Olivier Dunrea is part of the Gossie & Friends series. It is about two goslings who are best friends. The ducks both wear boots and do everything together. This book would be a good book for a kindergartener who is learning to read.
