The Secrets of Droon by Tony Abbott, is on ongoing epic saga about 3 friends named Eric, Julie, and Neal. The story is set in the magical world of Droon; a magical place filled with fanciful creatures, sorceress and wizards. In addition, some of the magical creatures are ferocious and dangerous such as the wingwolf, is a flying wolf with wolverine paws and black wings. It is an adventure story set in ten small chapters for children grades 2nd-5th grade. The stories imitate the characters and action of Harry Potter, but it differs in that it is written for a younger audience. For example, the font on the pages is much larger, and the sentences are much shorter. The paragraphs are very short, since they are 1 to 3 sentences long. The books are small paperbacks type books instead of novel length stories. The male protagonist even resembles Harry Potter in that he is thin, he has short dark hair, and he wears the same round dark glasses. The story is written in a fast paced action adventure story format with much of the dialogue unfolding the plot. The illustrations are in black and white and they are included in whole pages every 3-5 pages apart.
