A tale about why the black-mouthed monkeys live in thorny trees. Although the moral of the story is "don't put off until tomorrow what you could do today," I felt there was a missed opportunity to talk about the protection from predators that the thorny trees provided.

This is a cute story about the little monkeys that live in Brazil. It tells children all about their lives and why they have no place to call home. The monkeys have a very interesting life.

In Brazil, along the Black River, lives tiny monkeys. These monkeys live in the tall palm trees along the river. There are thorns on these trees, but the monkeys continue to live in the trees and even sleep there......why. This is an amazing tale the Indians created to explain why.
