Steve38 Like 'Skunk' The Dream Life of Sukhanov is set in the period leading up to and following the break up of the USSR. As with all fictionalisations of historic periods they both give some indivduality and depths to events which are well known from TV and the news papers. 'Dream Life' has a less aggressive tone than 'Skunk'. It is written by an expatriate Russian which may explain the more tolerant tone.
