In my opinion, this is a very good book. “Amelia Earhart” is a brief overview of Amelia Earhart’s life. I really liked how the book had real pictures of Amelia Earhart. The pictures are in black and white, but they are actual pictures of her. There is a picture in the book of Amelia and her sister Grace, Amelia was 3 years old. Another thing I really liked about the book were the “fast facts”. On some of the pages along with the text, there are boxes that contain facts. The boxes are bright blue with stars, they really grab the reader’s attention. These “fast facts” are just interesting things about Amelia Earhart. One “fast facts” says, “Amelia enjoyed doing what she called ‘first-time things.’ For her entire life, she loved the thrill of trying something new.” I also liked how the author included a glossary in the back of the book with words that may be new to young readers. Words like, “equator” and “pioneer” can be found in the glossary. The big idea of this book is to teach children about Amelia Earhart. ( )

I love, love, love these little biographies for the younger crowd. They are quick, to the point, and really informative. Not to mention they have a nice smattering of REAL pictures of the historian (or subject) discussed. The kids also love the size of them, which is perfect for little hands. ( )
