This book teaches children that you can’t wish yourself grown up and that we grow up at different rates. It also teaches that it is okay to be different sizes and that there are perks for both. The little girl wishes herself to be bigger so that she can ride a certain roller coaster. She learns, though, that the other rides are just as fun for her at her age and that if she was bigger she wouldn’t get piggy back rides and stories read to her all of the time.
This book the main character wanted to wish herself bigger so she could ride a rollercoaster. However, she realized it was a good thing that she couldn’t ride it because she would have been scared anyways. This book can teach children about how to not wish you were bigger or something else. It teaches children that they will grow in their own special timing. I remember how I always wanted to be bigger because I thought that meant I could do more things, but that is not always true!
Lola wants to be big, like her brother Charlie.
Cute picture book series, especially for girls
