This is a leaving the rat race for life on a farm story that is unusual because it is one of the earliest such stories following World War 2, and exceptional for the quality of observation and writing. The small farm in Cornwall is now part of a nature reserve created by the Tangye's but it is also a timeless place of imagination, populated by cats, donkeys, daffodils and wildlife. This is sweet, gentle story-telling that celebrates a quiet life lived well. Highly recommended. ( ) no reviews | add a review
