This book was made especially for all children who are interested in yoga. The language and layout have been kept simple for ease of understanding and enjoyment. Many of the drawings, ideas and poems in the book came form the eighteeen children who were living at the Satyananda Yoga Ashram, Mangrove Mountain, Australia, at the time of the book' s publication.

The practices outlined in the book are as taught by Swami Satyananda Saraswati (Bihar School of Yoga / Satyananda Yoga).
