Mostly photos, the captions of which provide a very brief, sympathetic but not fawning biography. (I likes my heroïnes to be heroïc, thanks you very much, and this allows me to preserve that.) As well as illustrating her career it identifies some of her personal joys and disappointments without going into much detail, making her seem ordinarily human while neither implying nor permitting of judgment. Not a long book, so not all that many photos, but the large format allows for large plates, which is very satisfying. For the price (I paid $10), a lovely album of a lovely woman.
