This was volume 4 of a series called The War on All Fronts, published by Charles Scribner's Sons of New York. This book was written in 1917 by E. Alexander Powell, a correspondent of the "New York World" who then became Captain in the U.S. Army. The book includes 36 photographic illustrations, and is a first source on WWI. Since it was written while the war was in progress, it is strongly pro-Allies and served as a form of propaganda to inform the American people about the war in Europe. There are 4 chapters on the war in Northern Italy, then one "with the Russians in Champagne" in France, and a chapter on the French force and the battle of Verdun, a chapter on the British front in Belgium, and a final chapter "With the Belgians on the show more Yser." Interesting read, and very interesting photos. show less
