This book is age appropriate for Primary students and classrooms
Mr. Putter and Mrs. Teaberry are neighbors who have a lot in common. They both love music, and one day, Mrs. Teaberry tells Mr. Putter that they should join a band. They look at all sorts of bands to join, but none are suitable for them in their old age. So, Mrs. Teaberry decides that they should be their own band, and she tells Mr Putter to learn an instrument. He tries to learn the horn, but he just can't get it down. So Mrs.Teaberry has a solo band, and Mr. Putter loves to listen to her play.
This is a sweet and endearing short chapter book that would be age-appropriate for primary classrooms. It could be a great read-aloud for kinder- 1st grade students, or a great show more independent read for 1st or 2nd grade readers. The vocabulary is repetitive, and there are plenty of pictures that assist with reading comprehension. show less

aww, so heartwarming - I love Rylant, but especially this series - I want to *be* Mr. Putter! (or his neighbor)
This book shows you can do/ be anything you want. Even though the characters are old they found a way to be in their own personal band that fit them. This book was alright not really a favorite.
Absolute love this book and would recommend for ages 4-8.
