When I read this in my high school speech class I was asked for an encore. I once described this book on Twitter as sounding as though it had been ad-libbed by Tommy Chong at gunpoint.
Size matters! Lunchbox Louie's family just won't believe him when he claims the family's new kitten is growing to the size of a bulldog -- even when he brings home for comparison a bulldog, and then in quick succession a razorback hog, a young horse, and an elephant! One of the funniest books ever. Everyone enjoys the eccentric family and their bizarre argument about Wuggie Norple, the gigantic cat.
Don't know how I missed this one (Pinkwater is my favorite author) but I had never read it before. I found a free audiobook download of this and grabbed it. Loved the story and the great Pinkwater character names.
