" All dogs walk and jump and run. But dogs don't fly. It can't be done..." Sid can! On his way to school Sid discovers that he can fly! Filled with excitement he tells his classmates and teacher about his new discovery. He is very dissapointed when he realizes no one believes him. Sid returns home from school a sad puppy until his Dad lets him in on a secret. This a cute read aloud for small children. It has fun, bright pictures, and a sweet message that anything is possible.
Totally love this book. It always makes me smile. The ups and downs of Sid's experience, his judgment by rationalists leaving him glum, and then in the end, joy, because whatever the rationalists think, "Some dogs do." I love the rhymes, love the illustrations.
A fun story that blurs the line between make-believe, lying, and wishing, but in a good way.
Nice illustrations.
Sid is walking to school and learns he can fly. When he gets to school he tells everyone he knows how to fly but everyone think he is lying. He gets very sad and his dad tells him a secret. Which is that he can also fly. Sid says I guess some dogs can fly and others can't. I like this story because it is a story of how if you believe in yourself you can really do something.
Sid realizes he can fly, but when he tells his friends at school they make fun of him and he can't show them he can. When he gets home that day he is very sad and his dad comes out and shows him that he can fly, that is when Sid realizes not all dogs can fly. This is a good book to use when talking about believing and perseverance and also about standing up for yourself when your friends are mean and make fun of you.
Sid the dog, flew to school one day. When he told his classmates, they didn't believe him. Sid was discouraged and when he got home, his dad shared his secret with Sid. A sweet story that can be used as motivation for children.
A little dog flies to school one day but his classmates and teacher do not believe him. He goes home sad but his day cheers him up. This is a great read aloud book, with great illustrations, aimed for ages 2-6.
