It would be a great introductory Read-Aloud at any age, but especially for younger students. This book is a great introduction to Diwali, the Hindu New Year. It is a great book to read to students in an elementary school because it is likely that there are some students who celebrate it, so reading this book will allow them to learn more about the culture and holidays their peers have. It tells the story of one family's traditions when they celebrate Diwali and is easy to read and understand. The end is great because it gives some traditions done during Diwali. This is part of a series of books that introduces various holidays so it can be used along with other books from the series when introducing holidays to students. no reviews | add a review
