Summary
This book is about two friends talking on the bus on the way to school and upon arrival one realizes that his note is missing for the zoo trip. So himself and his friend Cam set out to solve the mystery of the missing note.
Personal reflection
I liked this book because is was a cute way in showing a child how to go back and retrace their steps and when doing so they can remember when they have misplaced something.
Extension
1. Set up a mystery similar to the story
2. Have the kids get in small groups to work together in solving the mystery.
3. Discuss the ways the kids came up with in solving the mystery.

Viking Easy-To-Read books are a great series of increasingly difficult to read books for children. This book is an early reader chapter book. “Young Cam Jansen and the Zoo Note Mystery” is about a young school boy who almost looses his permission slip and misses a ride to the field trip. Luckily with the help of friends and a positive attitude, things turn out alright and he’s able to go. This is a great introductory book for readers that want to start on some longer reads.
