(read 21 May 1988) This is a 1930 book, the first of three volumes on the reign of Queen Anne. It is fairly fast-paced old-fashioned history, with an opinionated British and Protestant bias. This volume culminates in the victory of Blenheim on Aug 13, 1704. I would like to visit the battlefield of Blenheim, but I don't suppose I ever will. The account of those by-gone years, momentous in the events so influential in the years ahead, is fascinating. ( ) no reviews | add a review
