Too much focus on clothing, involves magic, and the limitations and liabilities are not explained or present, characters are empty vessels with little in the way of personality, similar to Janny Wurts but not as good ( )

A readable but not exceptional Fantasy story. There are some mysterious mages who are trying to conquer the world and a different set of mages trying to stop them. I didn't really care for any of the characters. ( )
