This book is about a black dragon name Septimus who capture a girl name Satia for a snack. As he returned home to his mother he encounter Thordane the wizard. They began to fight and Septimus mother Nox turned him into a young boy where he loses his power. Nox was captured by Thordane. Septimus made a deal with Satia, that she must help him free his mother and he would take her home unharmed. In the mean time, Satia and Septimus were attacked by two dragons whom they defeated. Determine to find Nox, they continue on their journey, but is soon capture and held as prisoners by Lord Thoradane. Satia try to escape and is rescued by Gneech. Gneech, Mosang, Satia and Septimus went on to tried to rescue Nox. They eventually freed Nox who wanted her son to fall back on his promise and kill them all. ( )
