Lieutenant Commander Matthew Reddy, along with the men and women of the U.S.S. Walker, have chosen sides in a war not of their making. They have allied with the Lemurians-a mammalian race whose peaceful existence is under attack from the warlike, reptilian Grik. The Lemurians are vastly outnumbered and ignorant of warfare, and even the guns and technology of Walker cannot turn the tide of battle. Luckily, they are not alone. Reddy finally finds Mahan, the other destroyer that passed through the rift. Together, the two American ships will teach the Lemurians to fight and stand against the bloodthirsty Grik-or so they think. The Plot thickens... and the war in an alternate world widens ( )

The book is a perfect sequel to the previous book [Into the Storm]. Old characters are enhanced or die but new interesting characters are added. The detail in this book is incredible with details on how problems are solved, funny situations and dramatic battle scenes.

I read this 400 page book in 2.5 days.... I could not put this book down. I have the next two books in the series and cannot wait to get at them. However when I fall in love with a series I space out the reading by reading something else after each book. Otherwise I would OD on the series and read them too fast.

If you are into alternate history time travel books this series is highly recommended. ( )
