I liked the different cultural perspectives, the photographs and especially the writing. The story was all about Christmas and how all different kinds of cultures celebrated. I especially loved learning about how places like Australia and South Africa celebrated. It was super interesting because we are all celebrating the same holiday but each culture celebrates a little bit differently. I also loved the photographs that went along with each culture; it was fascinating to see a real life image of each culture celebrating. The picture of people in Ethiopia dressed up in colorful, Christmas gowns really added to the text and gave readers a good image of this culture. Lastly, the writing in this book was great. It was very simple since the book is aimed at 1st-2nd graders but very descriptive. Readers got a good sense of the culture through basic but informative language. The main idea of this story was that every culture celebrates differently. I liked this informative book a lot. ( ) no reviews | add a review
